Dr. Violetka Ikonomova- department chief
Dr. Ikonomova graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1987, and received her specialization physical therapy and rehabilitation in 1991. During her first years after graduation, she worked as a rotational doctor in Kustendil Bulgaria, after which she joined the physical therapy and rehabilitation department team of the University Hospital Tzarina Yoanna, where she worked from 1993-2006.
She has graduated from post graduate programs in reflexology, acupuncture, acupressure, lazer puncture, manual therapies, electro-diagnostics, and electro-stimulation. Dr. Ikonomova specialized in the Tokushukai Medical Corporation in Japan, and is an active member of the Bulgarian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Ikonomova has lead our physical therapy and rehabilitation department since we began serving the public.
Dr. Nikoleta Georgieva
Dr. Georgieva graduated from the Sofia Medical University in 1989, and received her specialization physical therapy and rehabilitation in 1995. During her first years after graduation, she worked in the prophylactic center in Bobov Dol, Bulgaria, after which she worked in the physical therapy and rehabilitation department of the 28th Municipal Medical Center in Sofia, until she joined our team.
She has completed post graduate programs in lazer therapy, acupuncture, acupressure, manual therapies, electro-diagnostics, electro-stimulation, post-isometric relaxation, and physical therapy for vertebral diseases. Dr. Georgieva has participated in the Central European Pain Academy (CERA), has specialized in the Tokushukai Medical Corporation in Japan, and is an active member of the Bulgarian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has a master’s degree in family psychotherapy and consulting for people with disabilities. Dr. Georgieva has be a member of our physical therapy and rehabilitation department since we began serving the public.
Dr. Veselin Manolov
Dr. Manolov graduated from the Sofia medical university in 1996, and received his specialization in physical therapy and rehabilitation in 2003. From 1997 to 2006, he worked as a faculty resident in the University Hospital Tsarina Yoanna, after which he joined our team. Dr. Manolov has post graduated qualifications in Chinese traditional medicine, bio-regenerative medicine, lazer therapy, homeopathy, electro-stimulation, and post-isometric relaxation techniques.
Dr. Tzonka Savova
Dr. Savova graduated from the Sofia medical university in 1997, and received her specialization in physical therapy and rehabilitation in 2006. She has seven years of professional rehabilitation experience with neurology and orthopedic patients from the specialized medical center Pancharevo, where she worked as a team doctor. In April 2006, she was appointed to work as resident of the physical therapy and rehabilitation faculty of the Sofia Medical University in the University Hospital Aleksandrova, where she taught students and specialization interns. In October 2007, she joined our department team. Dr. Savova has completed post-graduate qualification courses in lazer therapy, electro-diagnostics, electro-stimulation, post-isometric relaxation and mobilization techniques for the peripheral joints, acupuncture, neuro-muscular disease treatment, and nuero-pathic pain treatments, and she is an active member of the Bulgarian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Teodora Simeonova- Head Nurse
Nurse Simeonova graduated with a specialized rehabilitation nursing degree from the Sofia Medical College Yordanka Filaretova in 1990, and in 2002 she completed training in the National Sport Academy for kinesiology. She has completed additional qualification courses in post-isometric relaxation techniques, electro-stimulation, and kinesiology therapies. She has 17 years of professional nurse experience earned in the neurology clinic of the specialized hospital Sveti Naum. Nurse Simeonova has been a member of our team since we opened to serve the public.
